The constantly growing trade turnover with China allowed Ukraine to maintain a high level of transport flow in the international direction. Exported goods were sold for more than 50 billion dollars. The structure of the export portfolio included not only raw materials – ore, timber, metals, but also domestically produced goods of a wide range, which accounted for 40% of total exports. In 2020, when the European direction “dipped” a little in terms of traffic volume, international trucking to China increased the volume and thus the cargo traffic was redirected, which allowed Ukraine to maintain the export component at the level of the peak of 2019.

Peculiarities of road transport in the international direction

Cargoes to China are sent by sea, air, road and rail transport. Delivery from China to Ukraine is carried out by sea vessels, railroad trains, box cars, container ships. Urgent and expensive cargoes are sent by air flights to Kiev.

  1. The duration of the passage of ships to the ports of Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Guangzhou is up to 60 days. The cost of shipping by sea is the lowest, so raw materials are transported to China from Ukraine by sea vessels.
  2. Inexpensive tariffs are provided by rail transport, so Ukrainian manufacturers send part of the goods to China by land.
  3. The most optimal in terms of costs and duration of transportation is road delivery, which is actively used by specialists of the forwarding service “M&M Militzer and Munch Ukraine GmbH”.
  4. Consignments that require urgency are sent by air at the request of the customer. Delivery speed is no more than 2-3 days.

In recent years, China has been actively developing various areas of production, so it is interested in mutually beneficial cooperation with Ukrainian business. International trucking allows you to make a profitable exchange of goods in one direction and the other. Thanks to the established partnership, Ukrainian entrepreneurs receive the world’s cheapest textiles, chemical additives, phosphate fertilizers, semi-finished products, spices, dried fruits, canned fruits, seafood, equipment, quarry equipment, household goods, office equipment, computers, smartphones and other goods.
