In March, the group Militzer & Münch has launched a new service – now the company carries out transportation by rail of consolidated consolidated cargo under the LCL scheme from Duisburg (Germany) to Wuhan (China) over a distance of about 10,550 kilometers. Militzer & Münch China, the only service provider on the market to offer rail transport on this route, successfully completed the first shipments. The new service has significant benefits for the customer: compared to air freight, rail transport costs about 70 percent less, and compared to sea freight, rail delivers goods more than twice as fast.
New Service Militzer & Münch includes the transport of small consignments of LCL. The first LCL door-to-door delivery of containers from Duisburg to Wuhan took 26 days, 18 of which were transported by rail. “Cargo consolidation enables our customers to improve supply chain efficiency through significant cost and time savings,” says Glenn Bai, Managing Director of Militzer & Munich China. “Sea freight transport transports goods for more than 45 days from the port of Duisburg to the port of Wuhan, which means that when transporting by rail, the shipper saves up to 27 days”.
Saturday departures
Every Saturday, goods depart from Duisburg. The train goes through Malaszewiczy (Poland) and Alashankou (China). The destination is Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, with a population of eight million, which is a major center for the automotive industry and a popular distribution center for goods shipped to the regions.
Several teams of the group Militzer & Münch cooperate to implement a new service. Specialized Center Militzer & The Münch RCC in Düsseldorf is responsible for the advance transport of goods from warehouses, provides containers and organizes the dispatch from Duisburg. Team Militzer & Münch China coordinates the entry of goods into Wuhan, unloading and customs clearance, and in some cases the transportation of goods to the consignee in China.
Cargo delivery from Ukraine to China, from China to Ukraine is successfully carried out by the transport-forwarding company “Militzer & Muench Ukraine GmbH.
Tracking and control of the transportation of goods to the destination
Currently, the main products that Militzer & Münch transports containers under the LCL scheme, is a product of the automotive industry and other industries. E-commerce customers can also take advantage of the new shipping method. During the entire period of transportation Militzer & Münch China offers a tracking and tracking service so that customers always know where their goods are.
We see this new service as an investment in the future, says Glenn Bai. “In the logistics industry, rail transportation is becoming more and more popular.”
